I’ve been involved in the arts most of my life. Coming from a musical background, I have had a very keen appreciation of the creative process, whether it be in music, the performing arts, painting, writing or photography. Having that interest sparked my involvement in the artistic possibilities of Second Life.

As for the creating of the photos, I much prefer shooting out on location in the multitude of amazing sims which populate SL than in a studio, as I feel I get much better results that way. Since starting seriously taking photographs in SL about two years ago, I have broadened my horizons in what wonders this virtual world has to offer. Really, the only limits are those of the imagination.

I like to be diverse in my works, and I love taking portraits, landscapes and profile photos equally. Wherever my muse takes me at any given time.

In addition to SL photography, I currently run an SL travel blog, Blue Bones Bagat with my partner Bones Delicioso-Rocker, a chronicle of our journeys through the various amazing builds Second Life has to offer :

Online Portfolio :

I would like to thank two people, without whom I would not be doing what I am doing today. Kaijah Chrome, whose photography class spurred me to pursue photography in Second Life, and Bones Delicioso-Rocker. My partner in love and crime. My muse more than she will ever know.

Born in the United Kingdom I found Second Life rather late on in my Real one. So yes I am still relatively young here which , in my eyes is fantastic!
I have had and still have great joy and personal reward in wandering discovering new places , seeing how people have got their own creative juices cooking in what they build and how they present their avatar for others to see.
Although my work is very personal and is primarily avatar focused I am discovering new joys in landscapes and objects.
I have already had the pleasure of showing some of my work at Creations fight against Parkinsons show , Windlight Magazine Gallery,Panorama Gallery and a current exhibition for Team Diabetes at Little Yoshiwara 􀀁

My thanks to all who encourage me to make more and explore more not least of which is my Angel without whom I would never have taken a single picture.

Wicca Merlin - Closeup 2015 (1024x1024)

Wicca Merlin came to Second Life 2007 when a friend told her she could experience music from other countries as her home country of Germany did not afford her the same exposure to music from around the globe. Presently Wicca is a designer and has her own brand, Wicca’s Wardrobe. Wicca’s Wardrobe is a team of 4 people – Veovis, Redclaw and Wicca – who design and create together and Prisilla, who is the good soul and GM.
She is a well known, experienced and respected model and blogger who enjoys mentoring others. In her blogging and photography, she always strives to be different, bringing in her love of fantasy and Avant Garde, her photography always takes on a bit of an edge. Wicca was surprised that her photography would be considered art and was flattered to be invited to create an exhibit.

Hi there, thank you for visiting!

I am Skip, from the Netherlands.. love to make pics in Second Life…and started in august 2008 my photostudio in SL.. Photo Fantasy Studio PURPLE COWS…., never thought it would be THIS busy! Wow.. Im still surprised about the succes and the fact that SL people really seem to love to have their pictures done in SL. And that they choose.. ME to do that.. did u looked around and saw all this huge talents here on SL and flickr.. its amazing!

First I started for fun making pics for friends and myself, but soon I got asked to make pics for friends of friends..and their friends etc 😉 lol
So I deceided to begin my own studio.

I love to blend rl and sl pics…mixing all the time… I dont see myself as a pro at all or a superb artist.. lol.. Im still and always learning and am always playing and trying stuff….. most of the time I really do not know how I made a piece at the end lol… I just mess around. So dont ask me to make the same piece again.. I simply cant.
Also when people ask me how I do things, and how I achieve some effects ..etc.. most of the time, i cont have clue myself.. seriously!

For my SL work I use now PS CS6 and plugins like FilterForge and Alien Skin… I would be no where without my Bamboo drawing tablet.. a lot of my work I draw by hand. In RL I follow since 2 years art classes, and I draw with pencils and charcoal.. If I wouldnt have found out, through SL, how much fun and heart drawing is for me, I probably would also never learned about this creative side of me…

I won in 2011 the BOSL award “Best Photographer” and in 2012 the award “Photographer of the Year” for Finesmith. I’v been nominated from 2012 to this year, 2015 for the avi choice awards, in both fashion photographer and photographer in the arts and made it to the top 5.. This year, I also won the title Best Erotic Photographer, at the Adult Industry Awards… Can tell you, this all makes me so very proud! 😀

Well thats a bit about me…dont hesitate to ask me questions.. u can always drop me a note inworld.. visit my studio…or my flickr stream:

Hugs Skip

Real Life Biography of Warm Clarity

Growing up surrounded by a love of the arts by both parents, my natural instinct to draw and keep drawing obsessively was nurtured by both my parents and the massive collection of fantasy art and fine art books surrounding me in childhood. I spent an entire summer in my teens working endlessly on a series of pieces consisting entirely of flowers in vases and yet another summer the subject matter was trees and eyes.

Inspired by literature, graphic novels of the 1970s and artists of the Impressionist and Surrealist movements my work tends to vary in style and subject matter yet still maintain the trademark flowing natural curves that dominates every piece. As unnatural as my work looks all subject matter tends to lean toward subjects of horticulture and biology – nature. Most pieces are full of vibrant contrasting color combinations through the use of oils, acrylics, opaque water colors (gouache), prismacolor -pencils, markers, and art stix chalk pastels, and oil pastels with the occasional venture into pen and ink, charcoals and graphite.
Inspired by the following artists (this list is definitely not exhaustive…the list is endless)
Vincent Van Gogh
Paul Gaugin
Edgar Degas
Pierre Auguste Renoir
Henri Matisse
Joan Miró
Salvador Dali
Maxfield Parrish
Peter Max
Frank Frazetta
Roy Lichtenstein
Janet Fish
Donald Roller Wilson

I bring a style I feel is my own. My photography is all raw and untouched for the most part just cropped , maybe a border and signed. I do play with a few simple textures as you’ll see here and there.
I am a photoshop/gimp illiterate 🙂 and decided to just work at shooting just a great shot without digital enhancement needed. I take photos of second Life of its beautiful worlds created who need no alteration to me. Sure I use windlight but other then that I would say I’m pretty traditional and my photos are pure through my eyes. I strive to bring out and show SL by shooting my photos as if I was in RL..

Please enjoy the beauty I find in SL.

Hello and thank you for reading about me.

I have been creating art in RL ever since I can remember. Drawing, crafting, painting, anything that would be considered visually creative. Making art is something that I must do rather than just being something to do.

For me, the appeal of Second Life is it’s visual richness. The beautiful sims, the equally beautiful avatars, and the originality in the creations we see. All of it is used as inspiration for my inworld photography. And my preference is avatars. I like the personal nature of what is expressed in putting together one’s avatar as well as adornment in general. For this reason, the items made for avatars (clothes, hats, hair, skins, etc.) are usually my biggest inspirations. With the creation of mesh bodies, avatars are even more smooth and sensual, making photography of avatars truly pleasurable.

I work on SL photos every week. If I am not taking a photo it is only because I am scouting out locations or shopping for fun things to put in a photo. Because I came to SL for its visual pleasure, I prefer to take photos in an SL environment rather than a backdrop. Somehow the photo feels more 3 dimensional that way, but it also honors the environment which I love so much. I do use Photoshop in post processing, sometimes a lot, and sometimes very little. It depends on the photo and the mood I want in the photo.

My most recent source of pride is Visionaire Institute of SL Photography, where myself and Nariko Okawa teach new and aspiring photographers how to take the best photos they can. We focus on using SL tools to the utmost as well as teaching them how to truly ‘see’ the ins and outs of what makes one photo great while another photo makes no impact.

I hope you enjoy what you see. It is a culmination of about 4 years worth of finessing my skills which I hope will continue to grow.. Please consider this your personal invitation to join me on this journey of learning and creating fresh new things.
